Do I need to be a biological mother?

Absolutely not! Step mother, adoptive mother, birth mother, foster mother- all are welcome. If you find yourself nurturing a new little human, you are encouraged to nurture yourself in this group. Much of the content surrounds pelvic health, and guess what?... everyone has a pelvis! Even if you didn’t birth a baby you will still benefit from education around posture, breathing, ergonomics, and activity changes that go hand in hand with raising a child.

Is this only for first time moms?

Definitely not! Whether it’s your first baby or fifth baby, you will still build community, explore the changing relationship with your body after this pregnancy, and connect with your newest family member.

Do I bring my baby?

Yes, please! Bring your under one-year old infant. The group is designed to support new parents in that special first year postpartum. Please leave all older children at home.

Is there a drop-in option?

No. You must register and pay for a group series. There are no class make-ups. The group is designed to become an intimate space for sharing and supporting others, so consistency of participants is key.

How long does the group run?

The groups are six weeks in length. There are one or two sessions offered in the fall, winter, and spring. You can definitely repeat the group, as there will be new topics covered and new parents to meet.

How many people are in the group?

We will have around five to seven mother-baby pairs each session. The small size of the group allows us to really get to know each other and build lasting relationships.

Do you take insurance and/or my HSA?

Although the group is run by an occupational therapist, it is an out-of-pocket expense. Please don’t consider this a substitute for needed pelvic floor therapy, but as a way to dip your toes in the waters of pelvic health and get connected to the resources and professionals you may need now or down the road.

How much does it cost?

The six week group is $90.

How do I register?

Please email yellowrosepelvichealth.com to register or ask further questions. You will be sent an invoice and asked to fill out a brief introductory intake form to better focus the group around your specific postpartum needs.
