My daughter was born in Northern California among ancient redwood groves, gorgeous wine country, and breathtaking rocky beaches… but I was a new parent, and I was far from home. I was far from family, friends, my mom, my sisters, my community. I had a challenging birth experience that left me feeling angry at my doctor, confused by my symptoms, sad about the new state of my body and disappointed in healthcare.

I stumbled upon a small mom’s group called “Mothering Arts” led by a talented postpartum doula and early childhood educator. The group was held in her living room, and from the moment I stepped inside I felt like I belonged. I was taken care of. I was nurtured as a new parent and nourished by the community of women that surrounded me. I was healing.

I created Yellow Rose Pelvic Health to offer my community what was offered to me in those early days as a new parent. I am trained as a pelvic health occupational therapist and offer professional insight and resources for common postpartum concerns like pain with intimacy, leaking, diastasis, and changes in identity… but more than this, my hope is that Yellow Rose becomes a space for you to feel seen and heard, witnessed in your transformation, held through the hard moments, and lifted up in the joyful ones.

Each week we will gather together in community with our babies. We will move our bodies gently. We will sing. We will play. We will discuss the metamorphosis of motherhood.
